I’m a suc”c”er for succulents & cacti!

Cacti’s and succulents are my favorite plants. They are so easy to keep alive! You can basically forget about them, and they do wonders.

Like all plants they need light. Let there be light! I’ve also read you should rotate your succulents, 180 degrees once a month.

Just like us, your succulents need water. Just be sure not to over-water, as this can kill your plants or cause them to develop mold and rot. From my experience, water succulents every other week. It depends on the size of the plant. But keep an eye on them. Somewhere with higher humidity, you can probably water less frequently; drier, more.

As you can see pictured above I just pruned my succulents. Getting rid of those dried up steams & leafs underneath gives the plant more energy for the healthy parts.

I mix my living plants with fake plants throughout my entire house. Some places in my house where I’d like to add a green touch don’t have enough light (or it’s an out of the way room and I’m too lazy to go there daily to check on things). So I’ll do a fake version! They have really come a long way since Grandma’s bubblegum colored awful plastic flowers. Some fake plants nowadays, you can’t even tell. My husband has watered more than his share of them, and always gets mad when he realizes. Some even have roots showing, or are made out of soft floppy textures. So go for it! Grab one you REALLY can forget about! All you need to remember with an artificial plant, a fake one is to wipe it down or give it a quick run over with your hairdryer (On cold setting) to dust it off, maybe once a year! 🙂

Having plants, fake or real, is a key element to making any area more styled. It’s a thoughtful touch to add something green. It adds a fresh look and goes with any interior design concept you are thriving for. Even a minimalist home carries a few clean modern plants of some sort.

If you work from home (isn’t everyone in 2020?), add live plants to your work area to liven up your work area, be it the kitchen table or the sofa. Find a spot to add something green. A plant can be small. Like three little succulents arranged on the sofa table. Or go for a bigger style by the sofa in a stylish plant stand. Whatever you decide, I think you’ll be pleased with the results.

Happy plant life!

The pictures are from a trip I made with my mom. We flew to Palm Springs over a long weekend. We visited a cute little cacti garden. I hold fond warm sunny memories of our trip and every time I see a cacti my mind wonders to my stunning Mama.
