Nature

Sweden

My roots grow deep like the birch trees in Sweden, my homeland.

Design and innovation are things Sweden does, and does well. Many of you at this blog are probably aware of IKEA and H&M…have you heard of Saab and Volvo? Listened to Spotify? Have you ever used a zipper? Hopefully you’ve never used dynamite, at least not while drinking Absolut vodka! All of those were invented or designed in Sweden!

But Sweden is also very much about nature and the outdoors, which is easy to do when it is a stunning country made up of thousands of islands, approximately 100,000 beautiful lakes, dense forests, and snow-capped mountains.

Skåne, Southern Sweden

This is my home region, and the landscapes here are open, vast and colorful. When the canola fields are blossoming, Skåne turns into a golden region filled with canola flowers everywhere on the countryside. It’s also here you can see many of the old windmills.

Besides canola fields and windmills, Skåne is also famed for its beaches, cute little villages/towns, farmers and of course the unique accent that we “southerners have.”
